This, if I understood correctly, is an ancient TRANSLUCENT rain coat made out of WHALE INTESTINES by Inuit people of the Arctic. Saw it and a lot of other stuff (got to touch a real narwhal horn!) with my kids at a local Maine Arctic Museum. They made it translucent by drying it in the winter. If it dries in tHe summer it becomes white apparently. I havent studied further but I guess that might mean that the translucent rain coat style that we still see may have come from ancient arctic people? Interesting. #Arctic #Inuit #Unschooling #Unschool #Homeschool #School #education #museum #Maine #History #Learning
